Eat Big, Lift Big, Sleep Big, Be Big

A passion of mine is powerlifting. Another passion, obviously, is Halloween. What happens when you mix those two together? Well, besides the ravaging of candy as "fuel" for the lifts, you get a t-shirt. Elite FTS is one of my favorite companies due to their staff, articles, videos, etc. etc. They offer a pretty cool shirt with their name twisted into the image of a bat in classic orange. Check it out below.

Purchase this shirt at EliteFTS.

Summer Solstice

The celebration of Midsummer's Eve was from ancient times linked to the summer solstice. Some people believed that mid-summer plants, especially Calendula, had miraculous healing powers and they therefore picked them on this night. Bonfires were lit to protect against evil spirits which were believed to roam freely when the sun was turning southwards again. In later years, witches were also thought to be on their way to meetings with other powerful beings.

Look At Those Eyes

This album is one of my favorites to get me in a "spooky" mood when Halloween is drawing near, or even when it's long away. The album cover is absolutely perfect. That retro look with incredible simplicity makes it very eye-catching and, at the same time, is a bit misleading. It has a "kiddie" look to it like it is a fun Halloween party disc, but in reality it is full of haunting, dark, wonderful piano and organ work. My favorite is the advertisement of "over one hour running time."

At only $6.99 for the disc in mp3 form (that now includes a large amount of sound effects), how can you NOT purchase this? If you want to then click here for the Amazon download page.
